- Note: ‘Mcdonalds’ fries and hash browns are vegan in Australia. They are not in the USA as they have beef tallow. I don’t personally support ‘Mcdonalds’ however I understand this may be helpful information to a vegan that needs to eat something with substance during a long road trip with little options! Its great Olivers are found in many locations now but not in far rural areas. The buns are vegan as are the salad filling options for their burgers. I have heard of many vegans ordering hash brown burgers before! (They do this by removing ingredients all non-vegan ingredients like mayo, cheeses and meats and then adding hash browns). They also have garden salads and a side salad option in some Mcdonalds stores, and they are also vegan.
Well folks that completes the list. For my ‘Accidentally Vegan foods of Australia’ supermarket list with all sorts of vegan burgers, lollies and pantry staples click here!

March 3, 2019this is good. but the black tortilla from zammie b’s has eggs in it – does double beans and double rice cost extra?
jessicawhalen
March 5, 2019Hi Kris, I didn’t mention the black tortilla as vegan, I mentioned the black rice. The black rice is definitely vegan! Though I will be sure to add a warning to the paragraph so it does not confuse anyone- this is a good point. The double beans double rice is supposed to cost extra yes, though I have only been asked to pay the extra fee twice! Usually they don’t charge you any extra. Thanks for commenting!

April 1, 2019Handy generally but also when travelling.

April 19, 2019Great write up.
no maccas review?
What is the point of doing all that work and leaving out the biggest fast food chain in Oz?
Jotoro
June 1, 2019Nandos veggie patties themselves actually are vegan. They contain no animal products, however 2 of their bread choices contain egg (Soft White Bun and White Portuguese Roll) so just avoid those two and you should be fine ordering a veggie from nandos 🙂
